Han Xue's Experience in Treating Pediatric Tic Disorder by Symptomatology
This article summarized Professor Han Xue's clinical experience in treating pediatric tic disorder(TD).Professor Han believes that the primary pathogenesis of pediatric TD involves disharmony of the internal organs,fail-ure of the liver to regulate properly,and erratic internal wind movement.Given the varied clinical manifestations of TD,she proposes a treatment approach based on symptomatology.Specifically,she performs treatment of the five types of common clinical symptoms and comorbidities of TD based on syndrome differentiation accordingly.Xiaochaihu Decoction is used as the base formula,and it is modified with Banxia Houpo Decoction,Gegen Decoction,Mahuang Fuzi Xixin Decoction,Ling-gui Zhugan Decoction,Fangji Dihuang Decoction,Chaihu Jia Longgu Muli Decoction,and Sini Powder based on the specific pathogenesis characteristics of different symptoms.An exemplary case is provided to support and illustrate the clinical effi-cacy.
