Effect of Zhenwu Decoction Combined with Xuefu Zhuyu Formula in Treatment of Elderly Patients with Coronary Heart Disease and Chronic Heart Failure
Objective To explore the effect of Zhenwu Decoction combined with Xuefu Zhuyu Formula in the treatment of elderly patients with coronary heart disease and chronic heart failure(CHF).Methods A total of 106 pa-tients with coronary heart disease and CHF admitted to Lu'an Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from May 2020 to June 2023 were selected and divided into a study group and a control group according to a simple random number table method,with 53 cases in each group.The control group received conventional treatment,and the study group was treated with Zhenwu Decoction combined with Xuefu Zhuyu Formula on the basis of the control group,all of which were treated for four weeks.The clinical efficacy,the incidence of adverse reactions,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome score before and after treatment,cardiac functions[left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF),cardiac output(CO),left ventricular end-diastolic diameter(LVEDD),and left ventricular end-systolic diameter(LVESD)],hemodynamics[mean pulmona-ry artery pressure(MPAP),mean left atrial pressure(MLAP),and mean mitral valve intervalve pressure difference(MMPG)],heart failure markers[vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF),soluble growth stimulation expression gene 2 protein(sST2),and brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)]levels in the two groups were compared.Results After treatment,the total effective rate of the study group(94.34％,50/53)was higher than that of the control group(81.13％,43/53),and the difference was statistically significant(P＜0.05).After treatment,the scores of cold limbs,palpitation,short breath,e-dema of limbs,chest tightness,night sweats,and fatigue in the two groups were lower(P＜0.05),and the TCM syndrome score of the study group was significantly lower than that of the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,LVEF and CO in the two groups increased,and LVEDD and LVESD decreased(P＜0.05).Moreover,LVEF and CO in the study group were higher than those in the control group,and LVEDD and LVESD in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,MPAP,MLAP,and MMPG in the two groups were lower(P＜0.05),and MPAP,MLAP,and MMPG in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).After treatment,VEGF in the two groups was increased,and sST2 and BNP were decreased(P＜0.05).VEGF in the study group was higher than that in the control group,and sST2 and BNP in the study group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).During the treatment,there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the study group(7.55％,4/53)and the control group(3.77％,2/53)(P＞0.05).Conclusion Adopting Zhenwu Decoction combined with Xuefu Zhuyu Formula on the basis of a routine treatment to treat elderly patients with coronary heart disease and CHF can improve cardi-ac functions,adjust the hemodynamic state and the level of heart failure markers,alleviate clinical symptoms,and enhance the overall treatment effect,with good safety.
