Traditional Chinese Medicine Diagnosis and Treatment of Subcutaneous Lipoma Based on Yang Transforming Qi While Yin Constituting Form
Subcutaneous lipoma is a benign soft tissue tumor, composed primarily of mature adipose tissue along with substantial connective tissue or blood vessels.Currently, surgical excision and minimally invasive liposuction are com-monly employed to remove existing lesions. However, there are no effective medications available to prevent the continuous development of new tumors, usually leading to a recurrence in different locations. This is particularly challenging for cases involving multiple lipomas, where treatment options are limited.According to traditional Chinese medicine(TCM),the theo-ry of yang transforming qi while yin constituting form suggests that the occurrence of solid entities like subcutaneous lipoma is closely associated with insufficient yang qi transformation and excessive yin substance formation. Therefore, the principle of warming yang and transforming yin is of significant clinical importance in the treatment of subcutaneous lipoma,especial-ly those that are multiple.
