Exploring the Understanding and Prevention of Atherosclerosis-related Chronic Disease Based on "Yingwei Theory" from the Inner Canon of the Yellow Emperor
Based on the Yingwei theory from the Inner Canon of Yellow Emperor,this paper elucidates the etiology and pathogenesis of atherosclerotic diseases.It identifies"disharmony of Ying and Wei,disorder of qi function,and accu-mulation of turbid lipids"as the fundamental pathological mechanisms,with"chronic disease entering the venation"and"chronic disease inevitably leading to stasis"as pathological turning points.Emphasizing the relationship between Yingwei and the meridian-collateral system,it elucidates the understanding of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)regarding vas-cular endothelial injury.The proposed treatment principles involve harmonizing Ying and Wei and promoting blood circula-tion to intervene in atherosclerosis and delay the degeneration of vascular endothelial cells.This provides new targets and references for preventing and treating atherosclerosis with TCM.
