Objective To summarize the experience of the national master of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)Sun Guangrong in treating infertility with Salvia miltiorrhiza and Gizzard Pepsin,focusing on analyzing his treatment ap-proach and predicting the core mechanism of the drug pair.Methods Outpatient medical records of Professor Sun Guan-grong from January 2012 to January 2015 were reviewed,and prescriptions containing Salvia miltiorrhiza and Gizzard Pep-sin were included.Data visualization was performed using Cytoscape 3.7.1 and Vosviewer to analyze and summarize Pro-fessor Sun Guangrong's experience with this drug pair.The main chemical components and targets of Salvia miltiorrhiza and Gizzard Pepsin were obtained from the TCMSP database and CNKI.Infertility-related targets were retrieved from OMIM and GeneCards databases.A"disease-herb-active ingredient-target"network was established,and the mechanism of Salvia miltiorrhiza and Gizzard Pepsin in treating infertility was predicted through protein interaction network analysis and KEGG enrichment analysis.Results The Salvia miltiorrhiza and Gizzard Pepsin drug pair was widely used by Professor Sun Guangrong in clinical practice,particularly in the treatment of gynecological diseases,and had a unique application method.Professor Sun Guangrong's treatment of infertility focused on promoting blood circulation,removing blood stasis,and strengthening the spleen and stomach.Salvia miltiorrhiza and Gizzard Pepsin were identified as core drugs in his treat-ment of infertility.The main active ingredients of the pair included 70 components,and there were 78 targets related to fe-male infertility,suggesting potential therapeutic targets.The phosphoinositide 3-kinase(PI3K)/protein kinase B(AKT)signaling pathway was identified as a potential mechanism of action for treating infertility with Salvia miltiorrhiza and Giz-zard Pepsin.Conclusion National master of TCM Sun Guangrong advocates for regulating qi and blood and protecting the spleen and stomach in clinical treatment,particularly using the Salvia miltiorrhiza-Gizzard Pepsin pair for treating infertil-ity.This drug pair has the potential to promote follicular development and regulate the decidualization process of the endo-metrium,thereby treating infertility.
