Professor Gao Yanxia believes that the overall pathogenesis of idiopathic membranous nephropathy(IMN)is primarily rooted in Qi deficiency of the spleen and kidney,with damp-heat and blood stasis as secondary mani-festations.The condition involves a complex interplay of deficiency and excess,where both coexist and influence one anoth-er.In clinical practice,a three-pronged approach of"tonifying,clearing,and unblocking"was used to tonify qi,strengthen the spleen and kidneys,invigorate blood circulation,clear heat,and dispel dampness.The self-made Qishu Gushen formu-la heavily emphasizes Qi-tonifying herbs and allows for flexible adjustments based on individual symptoms,demonstrating significant clinical efficacy.A typical case study is provided as an example.
