Clinical Efficacy of Shu Rufang Granules in Treatment of Patients with Breast Nod-ular Disease and Its Effect on Their Sex Hormone Levels
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Shuru Fang granules in treating patients with breast nod-ules and its effect on their sex hormone levels. Methods Patients undergoing treatment for breast nodules between Octo-ber 2022 and December 2023 were selected from Beijing Geriatric Hospital and Beijing Gulou Traditional Chinese Medi-cine Hospital. The study included 37 patients from Beijing Geriatric Hospital and 83 from Beijing Gulou Traditional Chi-nese Medicine Hospital. The patients were divided into a control group and a treatment group according to the random num-ber table method, with 60 patients in each group. The control group received tamoxifen,an estrogen receptor antagonist, while the treatment group received Shu Rufang granules in addition to tamoxifen. After 8 weeks of treatment, clinical effica-cy was evaluated in both groups.Quantitative scores were evaluated for breast symptoms and signs(breast pain grading, nodule size, breast texture score, and systemic symptoms),mental status scores[(Self-rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)],and estrogen levels[serum prolactin(PRL)and estradiol(E2)]before and after treat-ment.Results After treatment, the overall clinical effective rate in the treatment group was 96.43%(54/56),significant-ly higher than 66.10%(39/59)in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The quantitative scores for breast pain, nodule size, nodule texture, and systemic symptoms in both groups significantly decreased after treat-ment compared to before treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Additionally,the quantitative scores in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Both SAS and SDS scores significantly decreased in both groups after treatment, with statistically significant differ-ences(P<0.05);SAS and SDS scores in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).PRL and E2 levels significantly decreased in both groups after treatment compared to before treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);PRL and E2 levels in the treatment group were also significantly lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).During treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups showed no statistically significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion Tamoxifen combined with Shuru Fang granules shows good clinical efficacy in treating patients with breast nodules and can effectively reduce hormone levels.
