Clinical Efficacy of Jianpi Shengqing Liyan Decoction in Treating Chronic Pharyngi-tis of the Spleen and Stomach Weakness Type and Its Impact on Quality of Life
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of Master TCM physician Liu Daxin's Jianpi Shengqing Liyan decoction in treating chronic pharyngitis patients with spleen and stomach weakness and its impact on their quality of life.Methods A total of 80 patients with chronic pharyngitis characterized by spleen and stomach weakness,who visited Professor Liu Daxin's outpatient clinic at the Oriental Hospital of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine between October 2019 and December 2021,were selected as the research object.They were divided into a control group and a treatment group according to the random number table method,with 40 patients in each group.The control group received Sijunzi de-coction,while the treatment group received Jianpi Shengqing Liyan decoction.After 14 days of treatment,clinical efficacy,adverse reactions,clinical symptoms,signs,and quality of life scores before and after treatment were observed and compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the total clinical effective rate in the treatment group was 90％(36/40),significantly higher than the 60％(24/40)in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).At 7 and 14 days post-treatment,scores for throat dryness,throat pain,secondary symptoms(foreign body sensation in the throat,throat itching,cough,sputum production),posterior pharyngeal wall mucosa,lymphoid follicular hyperplasia,and thickening of the posterior pharyngeal wall were significantly reduced in both groups compared to pre-treatment levels,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).Moreover,the symptom and sign scores in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group during the same period,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).At 7 and 14 days after treatment,the quality of life scores for PF,RP,BP,GH,VT,SF,MH,and RE in both groups significantly improved compared to pre-treatment scores,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).The SF-36 quality of life scores in the treatment group were significantly higher than those in the control group during the same period,with statistically significant differences(P＜0.05).No adverse events occurred in either group during the treatment period.Conclusion Jianpi Shengqing Liyan Decoction is effective in treating chronic pharyngitis with spleen and stomach weak-ness,significantly improving clinical efficacy and enhancing the life quality of patients.
