Correlation between Intestinal Flora and Metabolic-Associated Fatty Liver Disease Based on the Theory of Qi-Blood-Water
Metabolic-associated fatty liver disease(MAFLD)is a chronic liver disease. The theory of qi-blood-water in traditional Chinese medicine describes the pathophysiological changes of the human body and the occurrence and development of human diseases from the perspectives of qi,blood, and water.According to this theory, this paper ex-plores the relationship among qi-blood-water,intestinal flora, and MAFLD.From the harmony of qi,blood, and water, the normal functions of liver and spleen, and the dynamic balance of intestinal flora, this paper clarifies that the changes of in-testinal flora metabolites and intestinal mucosal barrier can promote the pathological changes, thus affecting the progression of MAFLD.It is suggested that the functions of liver and spleen can be regulated to recover the intestinal flora in the treat-ment of MAFLD.
