Textual Research and Modern Clinical Application of Dingxiang Shidi Powder
Objective To systematically study the key information of the classical prescription Dingxiang Shidi Powder in ancient Chinese medical books and modern studies and provide reference for the development and research of this prescription.Methods By means of bibliometrics and textual research,the ancient Chinese medical books about Dingxiang Shidi Powder were reviewed,and the information about the origin,compatibility,dosage,indications,and usage of this prescription was summarized.Furthermore,the application of this prescription in modern clinical practice was summa-rized.Results A total of 70 ancient Chinese medical books were collected,in which 23 effective books were selected.Dingxiang Shidi Powder included in the Catalogue of Ancient Classical Prescriptions(the First Batch)is first recorded in the Systematic Differentiation of Cold Damage and Warm Epidemics(Shang Han Wen Yi Tiao Bian)written by Yang Lishan in the Qing Dynasty.It is composed of Caryophylli Flos,Kaki Calyx,Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma,and Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens and used to treat hiccup in the patients with chronic diseases due to cold in the lower energizer.With the effects of warming the middle energizer to descend adverse qi and harmonizing stomach to replenish qi,this prescription is mainly used to treat hiccup due to deficiency and cold.The modern composition of this prescription in the Systematic Differentia-tion of Cold Damage and Warm Epidemics was calculated as follows:7.46 g Caryophylli Flos,7.46 g Kaki Calyx,3.73 g Ginseng Radix et Rhizoma,and 11.19 g Zingiberis Rhizoma Recens.There are 20 articles about the modern clinical appli-cation and network pharmacological research of this prescription.At present,Dingxiang Shidi Powder is mostly used to treat digestive system diseases as well as the diseases involving the cardiovascular and cerebrovascular system,respiratory sys-tem,and blood system.It is often combined with Yueju Pills and Xuanfu Daizhe Decoction to treat intractable hiccup,gas-troesophageal reflux disease,nausea after tumor chemotherapy,and nausea and vomiting after surgery.Conclusion This study reviews the ancient Chinese medical books and modern studies of Dingxiang Shidi Powder,aiming to provide refer-ence for efficient clinical application and further research and development of this prescription.
