Clinical Efficacy of Chaihu Shugan Powder Combined with Tamoxifen Tablets in Treatment of Breast Hyperplasia and its Influence on Ultrasound Indicators
Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of modified Chaihu Shugan Powder combined with Tamox-ifen tablets in treating patients with breast hyperplasia and its effect on ultrasound indicators.Methods A total of 120 pa-tients with breast hyperplasia admitted to Zibo Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2023 to October 2023 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group by random drawing,with 60 cases in each group.The control group received Tamoxifen tablets,while the observation group was additionally treated with modified Chaihu Shugan Powder.After three menstrual cycles of treatment,clinical efficacy,adverse reaction rates,recurrence rates,changes in clinical symptoms and signs(breast pain,lump size,lump texture,lump distribution),traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores(breast distention or scurrying pain,breast lumps,irritability,depression and insomnia,fullness in the flanks,menstrual disorders or dysmenorrhea),and ultrasound findings(largest duct diameter,gland thickness,lump di-ameter,hypoechoic diameter)before and after treatment in both groups were compared.Serum hormone levels[follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),estrogen(E2),luteinizing hormone(LH),progesterone(P),prolactin(PRL)]and levels of vascular growth factors[basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF),vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)]were detected.Results After treatment,the total effective rate in the observation group was 95.00％(57/60),significantly higher than 81.67％(49/60)in the control group(x2=8.622,P＜0.003).Both groups showed significant reductions in clinical symptom and sign scores after treatment compared to those before treatment(P＜0.05),with the observation group showing lower scores than the control group(P＜0.05).TCM syndrome scores also significantly decreased in both groups(P＜0.05),with the observation group showing lower scores than the control group(P＜0.05).Ultrasound indicators were sig-nificantly reduced in both groups after treatment(P＜0.05),with the observation group showing lower values(P＜0.05).Serum levels of LH,E2,PRL,bFGF,and VEGF decreased after treatment,while FSH and P levels increased(P＜0.05).The observation group had lower LH,E2,PRL,bFGF,and VEGF levels,and higher FSH and P levels than the control group(P＜0.05).The adverse reaction rates between the two groups were not significantly different(x2=0.199,P=0.656).At a three-month follow-up,the recurrence rate was 3.33％(2/60)in the observation group and 16.67％(10/60)in the control group(x2=9.886,P=0.002).Conclusion Modified Chaihu Shugan Powder combined with Tamoxifen tablets significantly alleviates clinical symptoms and signs in patients with breast hyperplasia,improves ultrasound findings,and regulates serum hormone levels,with notable reductions in bFGF and VEGF levels.
