The Effect of Lingnan Mind-Regulating and Pregnancy-Assisting Acupuncture Combined with Femoston on Sexual Hormones,NK Cells, and T Lymphocytes in Pa-tients with Premature Ovarian Insufficiency
Objective To explore the effects of Lingnan mind-regulating and pregnancy-assisting acupuncture combined with Femoston on sexual hormones, natural killer cells(NK cells),and T lymphocytes in patients with premature ovarian insufficiency(POI).Methods 102 POI patients who visited the outpatient clinic of the Shunde Women and Chil-dren's Hospital of Guangdong Medical University between February 2022 and February 2023 were selected. They were randomly divided into two groups using a computer-generated random number table:an acupuncture group and a Western medicine group, with 51 patients in each group. The Western medicine group received oral Femoston, while the acupuncture group re-ceived Lingnan mind-regulating and pregnancy-assisting acupuncture combined with Femoston. After three treatment courses(three menstrual cycles),the clinical efficacy and adverse reactions of the two groups were observed and compared.Changes in traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)syndrome scores, modified Kupperman scale scores, and serum sex hor-mones including estradiol(E2),follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH),luteinizing hormone(LH),and anti-Mullerian hor-mone(AMH)were measured before and after treatment.Additionally, the peripheral blood levels of NK cells and T lympho-cyte subsets(CD4+,CD8+,CD4+/CD8+)were analyzed. Results After treatment, the TCM syndrome scores and total scores in both groups were significantly lower compared to before treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The acupuncture group had significantly lower TCM syndrome and total scores than the Western medicine group, with statistically significant differences, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The modified Kuperman scores also significantly decreased in both groups after treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05);the acupunc-ture group showed significantly lower scores than the Western medicine group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After treatment, serum E2 and AMH levels were significantly increased, and FSH and LH levels significantly de-creased in both groups compared to before treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The acupuncture group had significantly higher levels of E2 and AMH and significantly lower levels of FSH and LH than the Western medi-cine group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Additionally,NK cells and CD8+levels were significantly reduced, while CD4+and CD4+/CD8+levels significantly increased in both groups after treatment, with statistically signifi-cant differences(P<0.05).The acupuncture group had significantly lower NK cell and CD8+levels and significantly high-er CD4+and CD4+/CD8+levels than the Western medicine group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The total clinical efficacy rate in the acupuncture group was 98.04%(50/51),significantly higher than 86.27%(44/51)in the Western medicine group, with a statistically significant difference(x2=8.022,P<0.05).During the treatment period, there was a statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(x2=4.173,P<0.05).Conclusion Lingnan mind-regulating and pregnancy-assisting acupuncture combined with Femoston can im-prove clinical symptoms and correct hormonal imbalances in POI patients. It regulates NK cells and T lymphocyte subsets, enhancing immune function and thereby protecting ovarian function.
