Clinical Observation on Yang's Baliao Moxibustion for Primary Dysmenorrhea of Cold Coagulation and Blood Stasis Syndrome
Objective To investigate the clinical efficacy of Yang's Baliao moxibustion in treating primary dys-menorrhea(PDM)of cold coagulation and blood stasis syndrome. Methods A total of 66 patients with cold coagulation and blood stasis type PDM treated at Guangzhou Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine from March 2022 to March 2023 were selected and randomly divided into two groups:a control group and a treatment group ac-cording to a random number table, with 33 patients in each group. The control group received oral ibuprofen treatment, while the treatment group received Yang's Baliao moxibustion therapy. Both groups received continuous treatment for 3 menstrual cycles. The clinical efficacy, adverse reactions, and changes in pain levels(measured by the Visual Analogue Scale,VAS)and dysmenorrhea symptoms(measured by the Cox Menstrual Symptom Scale,CMSS)of the two groups before and after treatment were observed and compared. Results After treatment, both the VAS and CMSS scores of patients in both groups were significantly reduced compared to those before treatment(P<0.05).Additionally,the VAS and CMSS scores in the treatment group were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total clinical effective rate in the treatment group was 90.91%(30/33),which was significantly higher than the 72.73%(24/33)in the control group(P<0.05).During the treatment period, there was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions be-tween the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Yang's Baliao moxibustion significantly alleviates pain and other symptoms in patients with cold coagulation and blood stasis type PDM,with a low recurrence rate and a favorable safety profile. It is an effective and safe treatment, warranting further clinical promotion and application.
