Exercise Status and Limiting Factors in Patients with Ovarian Endometriosis
Objective To understand the exercise status and limiting factors among patients with ovarian endome-triosis(OEM)and provide a scientific basis for guiding them to engage in regular exercise.Methods A questionnaire sur-vey was conducted at WJX.cn on OEM patients treated at the Department of Gynecology,Guang'anmen Hospital,China A-cademy of Chinese Medical Sciences,between May and November 2022.Data on patients'basic information,dysmenorrhea status,sedentary behavior,exercise habits,and limiting factors were collected and statistically analyzed.Results A total of 201 patients were surveyed.Among them,51.2%participated in exercise,and 25.4%engaged in exercise regularly.Pa-tients exercising ≥3 times per week accounted for 27.9%,while those exercising for>30 min per session accounted for 38.3%,indicating a low proportion of OEM patients engaging in regular exercise.Additionally,50.8%of OEM patients had a daily sedentary time ≥ 8 hours,suggesting prolonged sedentary behavior.Among the 103 patients who exercised,77.7%chose 1-2 types of exercise,primarily aerobics(43.7%)and brisk walking(41.7%).The main factors limiting exercise participation were lack of time(61.2%),excessive fatigue or physical inertia(36.8%),etc.Conclusion The proportion of OEM patients engaging in regular exercise is relatively low.Patients should be encouraged to actively partici-pate in exercise and reduce sedentary behavior to strengthen their physical health and control disease progression.
