Wuhu Decoction,first published in Ren-Zhai's Straight Directions of Prescriptions(Ren Zhai Zhi Zhi Fang),has the effects of clearing heat,reducing phlegm,ventilating lung and relieving asthma.Physicians of all dynasties used Wuhu Decoction to treat asthma due to much phlegm,wind cold,infantile acute asthma and other diseases.This paper systematically searched the liter-ature on the clinical application and relevant pharmacodynamic action of Wuhu Decoction published in China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),Wanfang Data,and other databases in recent years.It concluded that Wuhu Decoction exerts anti-inflamma-tory and antiviral effect,reduces airway responsiveness,inhibits airway remodeling,relaxes bronchial smooth muscle,lowers airway mucus reserve and collagen deposition index,and rebuilds immune balance.Nowadays,the prescription is usually used to treat pneumonia,influenza,bronchial asthma and other diseases,with significant efficacy.On this basis,this paper sorted out and ana-lyzed the research and clinical application of Wuhu Decoction in the treatment of respiratory diseases,aiming to facilitate the in-depth and extensive clinical application of Wuhu Decoction in the future.
