Objective:To investigate the inhibitory effect and mechanism of Ziyin Bupi Decoction on human colon cancer xeno-grafts in nude mice.Methods:Twenty 1-month-old BALB/c female nude mice were used to establish a nude mouse model of human colon cancer,and they were randomly divided into four groups,with five mice in each group.The control group was injected with the same amount of normal saline,while the chemotherapy drug group was intraperitoneally injected with fluorouracil.The Chinese pa-tent medicine group was gavage with 10 mL of traditional Chinese medicine decoction,and the combined drug group was intraperito-neally injected with fluorouracil combined with traditional Chinese medicine decoction by gavage.Each group was treated once a day for consecutive four days,and the animals were killed on the 14th day to collect samples.The tumor weight,tumor volume,and tumor volume inhibition rate of each group were measured;the protein expressions of CD113,CD116,and P53 were determined by Western Blotting.Results:Compared with the control group,the tumor weight,tumor volume,and the expression of CD113 and CD116 in the chemotherapy drug group,Chinese patent medicine group,and combined drug group decreased significantly,and the tumor volume inhibition rate and the expression of P53 increased significantly(P<0.05);the tumor weight,tumor volume,and the expression of CD113 and CD116 in the chemotherapy drug group and combined drug group were lower than those in the Chinese patent medicine group,and the tumor volume inhibition rate and P53 expression were higher than those in the Chinese patent medi-cine group(P<0.05);the tumor weight,tumor volume,and expression of CD113 and CD116 in the combined drug group were lower than those in the chemotherapy drug group,and the tumor volume inhibition rate and P53 expression were higher than those in the chemotherapy drug group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The Ziyin Bupi Decoction can inhibit the growth of human colon cancer HT29 xenografts in nude mice,and the mechanism may be related to the down-regulation of CD113 and CD116 expression and the up-regulation of P53 expression.
