Cardiovascular disease is a circulatory system disease seriously threatening human health.It is characterized by high morbidity,disability,and mortality.As a new cell death mode,ferroptosis is closely related to lipid,iron,and amino acid metabo-lism.Mitochondrial morphology,as a characteristic change of ferroptosis,is highly related to the mechanism of ferroptosis.By intro-ducing the mechanism of ferroptosis,the role of mitochondria in ferroptosis,the interaction between mitochondria and ferroptosis in cardiovascular diseases,and the treatment of traditional Chinese medicine,it is helpful to understand the diseases related to ferrop-tosis and find new therapeutic targets.
