With thousands of years of inheritance and development,a large amount of data has been produced in the field of tradi-tional Chinese medicine(TCM).How to quickly and accurately obtain valuable tacit knowledge from the data is an urgent problem to be solved in the inheritance and innovative development of TCM.As a common technical method of data mining,clustering analy-sis can find tacit and similar sets of objects(or indicators)from the set of objects(or indicators),which provides an important basis for TCM knowledge discovery.On the basis of sorting out the research on clustering analysis,this paper systematically summarized the application status of clustering analysis in syndrome,syndrome type evolution,medication regularity,and TCM identification and expounded on the shortcomings of application,providing useful references for the organic combination of clustering analysis and the inheritance and development of TCM.
