Hyperthyroidism is an autoimmune endocrine disease characterized by increased excitability of nervous,digestive,circu-latory and other systems,hypermetabolism,and immune abnormalities due to the excessive synthesis and release of thyroid hormones by the thyroid glands.Professor LI Huilin believes that the onset of hyperthyroidism is closely related to the failure of the lung in governing management and regulation.In the treatment of hyperthyroidism,attention should be paid to strengthening the role of the lung in governing management and regulation by dispersing wind and ventilating lung,regulating qi and resolving phlegm,nouris-hing yin and clearing heat,and tonifying lung and replenishing qi.These methods will ensure the smooth flow of qi and blood and harmonize zang-fu organs,thus curing hyperthyroidism.
