Polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)is a reproductive endocrine disorder and metabolic abnormality common in women of childbearing age.Studies have shown that PCOS is associated with varying degrees of abnormalities in gut microbiota.Gut microbio-ta has been implicated in several aspects of PCOS,including hyperandrogenemia, abnormal follicular development, insulin resist-ance,obesity,and reproductive endocrine abnormalities.Intervention measures for PCOS based on gut microbiota mainly include ad-justment in the diet, exercise, and other lifestyle,as well as the application of probiotics in the regulation of gut microbiota.Chinese medical therapies including Chinese herbal medicines, acupuncture and moxibustion, and other characteristic therapies can treat P-COS by intervening in gut microbiota. This review provides a reference for the clinical research on gut microbiota in PCOS and the clinical treatment of this disease.
