Study on the Regulation of Jingfang Granules on Sex Hormone in Female Mice
Objective:To explore the effects of Jingfang Granules on estrogen and androgen levels in female mice.Methods:Four week-old female KM mice were randomly divided into the control group and Jingfang Granules groups(high,medium and low dose).The serum estradiol and testosterone levels in mice were measured after been given deionized water and Jingfang powder so-lution by gavage continuously for 4 days,and the changes in estradiol levels at different time points were detected.8-week-old fe-male C57 mice were randomly divided into the control group,the model group and Jingfang Granules groups(high,medium and low dose).The hair on the back of mice was removed.The Jingfang Granules groups and the model group were subcutaneously injected with dihydrotestosterone solution,while the control group was subcutaneously injected with soybean oil.The control group and the model group were gavaged with deionized water.The Jingfang Granules groups were gavaged continuously with Jingfang Granules so-lution for 18 days.The growth of hair on the back of mice was observed.The serum testosterone and estradiol levels were detected,and the pathological changes in the skin and ovaries were observed.Results:Jingfang Granules could increase the levels of serum estradiol and reduce the contents of testosterone in normal mice(P<0.05);Compared with the model group,J ingfang Granules could reduce the peak valley fluctuation amplitude of exogenous estradiol and slow down the metabolism levels of estradiol;Com-pared with the model group,Jingfang Granules could increase the levels of serum estradiol and reduce the levels of testosterone in androgenic alopecia areata model female mice(P<0.05),and have certain effects on promoting hair growth and ovarian protec-tion,but the testosterone concentration had no significant reduction compared with the control group.Conclusion:Jingfang Granules can promote the secretion of estrogen in normal female mice,regulate the abnormal levels of sex hormones caused by exogenous hor-mones,and have certain effects on promoting hair growth and ovarian protection in androgenic alopecia areata model mice.
