Objective:To study the effect of Fuzheng Touxie Jiedu Huayu Formula on inflammatory responses and immune function in elderly rats with pneumonia caused by multi-drug-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa.Methods:The experimental elderly rats were randomly divided into six groups:blank control group,model control group,western medicine control group,traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)group,pre-medication TCM group,and integrated traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine treatment group.The study dynamically observed changes in inflammation markers and lymphocyte proliferation levels at different time points across the groups.Results:Significant therapeutic effects were observed in both the pre-medication TCM group and the integrated treatment group,and the TCM group showed notable improvements in early-stage inflammation levels;the integrated treatment group helped T lymphocyte proliferation approach normal levels;the pre-medication TCM group and the integrated treatment group were able to suppress post-infection B lymphocyte proliferation and normalize it.Conclusion:Fuzheng Touxie Jiedu Huayu Formula can modulate the excessive immune-inflammatory reaction of elderly rats in the early stage of infection,and the integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine treatment can correct the disordered immune state after infection with multidrug-resistant P.aerugi-nosa.Pre-medication of TCM can play a preventive and therapeutic role in the inflammation and immune dysregulation following such infections.
