Clinical Observation on the Effect of Zhoufei Dingchuan Ointment on Inflammatory Mediators and Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Objective:To observe the effect of Zhoufei Dingchuan ointment on the times of acute exacerbation and inflammatory mediators of patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD).Methods:A total of 66 COPD patients in stable stage ad-mitted to Suzhou Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Tong'an Health Center from April 2019 to April 2020 were selected and randomly divided into control group(n=32)and ointment group(n=34).The control group was given tiotropium bromide in-halation and the ointment group was additionally treated with Zhoufei Dingchuan ointment based on the control group treatment.The times of acute exacerbation and the inflammatory mediators of acute exacerbation risk interleukin(IL)-6,IL-8,IL-17a,and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α in the two groups were compared.Results:After treatment,the times of acute exacerbation of COPD in the ointment group were lower than those in the control group(P＜0.05).The level of IL-6,TNF-α,and IL-17a in the ointment group was more significantly decreased compared with the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Zhoufei Dingchuan Ointment can inhibit the level of IL-17a,IL-6,and TNF-α in COPD patients in stable stage and reduce the times of acute exacerbation,thus helping treat COPD.
