Mechanism of Biminning Granules in Treating Allergic Rhinitis in Rats with Cold Syndrome
Objective:To explore the expression of mucin 5B(MUC5B),mucin 5AC(MUC5AC),and Toll-like receptor 2(TLR2)in the nasal mucosa of the rats with allergic rhinitis(AR)due to cold syndrome and treated with Biminning Granules. Methods:Sixty rats were randomized into 6 groups:blank control, model, positive control(Xinqin Granules,5 g/kg,2 mL per time),and low-,medium-,and high-dose(0.5,1,and 2 g/kg,respectively)Biminning Granules. The successfully modeled rats were administrated with corresponding drugs or 0.9%sodium chloride(blank control and model groups)by gavage once a day for 7 days. The immu-nohistochemical assay was employed to localize the expression of TLR2 in the nasal mucosa.Western blotting was employed to de-termine the expression levels of MUC5B and MUC5AC in the nasal mucosa. Results:Positive staining was significantly attenuated in the Biminning groups, and the model group showed significant differences compared with other groups(P<0.05).Compared with the model group, medium and high-dose Biminning groups showcased down-regulated expression of MUC5B and MUC5AC(P<0.05).Conclusion:Biminning Granules can reduce the immune damage to the nasal mucosa by down-regulating the expres-sion of MUC5B,MUC5AC,and TLR2,thereby treating AR in rats.
