Kenang theory, originating from Danxi's Experiential Therapy(Dan Xi Xin Fa)by Zhu Zhenheng,is a key aspect of the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)concept of the interconnection between phlegm and blood stasis. The pathogenesis of chronic kidney disease(CKD)aligns closely with the characteristics of phlegm combined with blood stasis in the Kenang Theory.According to this theory, spleen and kidney deficiency leads to abnormal metabolism of qi,blood, and body fluids, and results in blood stasis and phlegm accumulation, which triggers Kenang(mass)and obstructs the kidney collaterals. It is considered a primary pathogene-sis of CKD.Therefore, treatment emphasizes tonifying the kidney and spleen to address the root cause, regulating qi to ensure smooth qi flow, and simultaneously treating both phlegm and blood stasis to resolve the Kenang. This approach provides a new per-spective for the treatment of CKD.
