Osteoarthritis(OA)is a common chronic degenerative joint disease characterized by pain,swelling,stiffness,and func-tional impairment.Knee osteoarthritis(KOA)is the most common type of OA.Acupuncture is widely used due to its simple opera-tion,significant efficacy,cost-effectiveness,and safety,making it easily accepted by patients.Currently,there are numerous methods for acupuncture treatment of KO A,which can generally be divided into single therapy and comprehensive therapy.However,there are relatively few studies on the mechanism of action of acupuncture in treating KOA,and these studies are relatively limited in scope.
