Mechanical Properties Analysis of High Content Wood Flour Filled PE Composite
The high content wood flour filled PE-HD composite (WPC) was manufactured by extrusion. The effects of wood flour content on static mechanical properties and dynamic thermal mechanical properties were investigated. The study of the static mechanical properties showed that the wood flour content had less effect on the tensile strength and impact strength of WPC,while the wood flour content was between 50 % and 70 % . But the strength of WPC decreased significantly when the wood flour content was 80% . However, bending modulus of WPC increased with the increasing of the wood flour content. The results of dynamic thermal mechanical analysis displayed that WPC had obvious ( mechanical relaxation 55 °C to 61 °C . WPC showed higher storage modulus (E′) below the relaxation temperature and E' decreased significantly above the relaxation temperature. E' and loss modulus( E") were increased with the increasing of the wood flour content. Loss tangent factors (tanδ) changed slightly with the change of the wood flour content.
