With the chloride on HCCP substituted by pentaerythritol phosphate(PEPA),a PEPAP halogen-free and efficient expansion flame retardant was prepared. The preparation parameters of reaction temperature, time and solvent type on PEPAP were studied, and then the structure and thermal stability of PEPAP were studied by infrared spectroscopy and thermogravimetry respectively.Meanwhile, the combustion properties, macroscopic carbon morphology, volume resistivity and mechanical properties of PEPAP/SEBS/PP/PP-G-MMA halogen-free flame retardant material were further studied. The results showed that the preparation parameters of PEPAP was the molar ratio of PEPAP to HCCP was 5∶2,74 ℃ for 12 h reaction. The stretching vibration peak of P—Cl around 560 cm-1 disappeared and the P—O—C peak area increased at 1 028 cm-1.That means chlorine was completely replaced.TGA thermal analysis showed that P—N=P and phosphate ester group were decomposed at 320 ℃ and phosphate group was decomposed at 520 ℃.And the residual carbon rate was up to 15.0%,indicating that the flame retardant property was excellent. With the increase of PEPAP,The oxygen index(LOI)of the halogen-free flame retardant material was continuously increasd,The volume resistance of the system first increases and then decreases,The mechanical properties of composite decreased to a certain extent; When PEPAP was added at 25%,the LOI of the material could reach 30%,the combustion performance could reach the level of UL 94 V-O,and the flame retardant performance was obviously improved;Resistivity could be up to 7 × 1014 Ω·m,1 000% elongation at break, tensile strength of 18 MPa.
