The crosslinking of high-density polyethylene(HDPE)was initiated by peroxide, and the effects of microstructure, crosslinking agent dosage, dosage of crosslinking agent, and HDPE resin type on the crosslinking degree, mechanical properties, and thermal properties of the crosslinked sample were investigated. The optimal crosslinking conditions were determined, and the prepared XL-HDPE was compared with imported cross-linked high-density polyethylene(XLPE-H).The results showed that using two different types of HDPE,the crosslinking degree and impact strength of XL-HDPE showed an increasing trend with the increase of crosslinking agent and co crosslinking agent dosage, while the elongation at break, melting temperature, crystallization temperature, and crystallinity showed a decreasing trend. Moreover, when the dosage of crosslinking agent was 0.3 parts, the impact strength of XL-HDPE prepared could reach over 100 kJ/m2,and the elongation at break could reach over 400%.Its tensile strain and impact strength were superior to XLPE-H,and it had good mechanical properties.
