A phosphotungstic acid silver/PVA composite film was prepared with silver phosphotungstic acid as the antibacterial agent and polyvinyl alcohol(PVA)as the film-forming substrate by flow casting method, which showed good mechanical and antibacterial properties. The mechanical properties, water vapor transmission rate and antibacterial properties of the composite film were studied. The experimental results showed that mechanical properties gradually increased with the increase of silver phosphotungstate content. When the content of silver phosphotungstate was 1 g,the tensile strength was the highest, the highest value was 75.6 MPa.Compared with PVA pure film, the tensile strength increased by 128.3%;The water vapor transmission rate gradually increases with the increase of silver phosphotungstate content, from 0.5 × 10-14 g/(cm2·s·Pa)to 0.59 × 10-14 g/(cm2·s·Pa),which was increased 16.1%compared with PVA pure film;SEM testing showed that when the content of silver phosphotungstate was less than 1 g,the distribution of silver phosphotungstate in PVA film was uniform.Meanwhile, the results of the antibacterial zone test showed that the composite film had good antibacterial effects on Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
