Hydrogel is an extremely hydrophilic three-dimensional polymer network that retains a large amount of water when swollen.In recent years,hydrogels are widely used in bioengineering and daily life due to their excellent biocompatibility.Hydrogel facial masks are based on hydrophilic gel,which can carry various essence ingredients and provide long-lasting moisturizing,skin soothing and deep nourishing effects.According to the different types of mask matrices,hydrogel facial masks are classified into natural,synthetic and composite hydrogels,the research progress of hydrogel facial masks is summarized,the advantages and disadvantages of hydrogel facial masks with different matrices are discussed,the synthesis and application of polymer hydrogels are summarized,and the development trend of hydrogel facial masks is prospected.
