Application of Butterfly Valves in the Tailrace System of Pumped-storage Power Stations
In order to simplify the layout of metal structure equipments in the tailrace system of pumped-storage power stations and improve the capacity of preventing powerhouse flooding accident,the butterfly valve is proposed as the cut-off equipment of tailwater system.The feasibility of butterfly valve scheme is analyzed,and meanwhile,the butterfly valve scheme is compared with emergency gate scheme.The results show that the butterfly valve scheme is feasible,that can improve the capacity of preventing the expansion of powerhouse flooding accident,simplify the installation of equipments and reduce the civil construction.The butterfly valve scheme with selected specification parameters can reduce construction cost and improve economic benefits.The research results can provide new ideas and technical reference for preventing the expansion of powerhouse flooding accident and equipment layout in similar projects.
