The Analysis of Basic Strategies for Emergency Response to Catastrophic Forest Fires in China
The risk of catastrophic forest fires is escalating under the background of global climate change.Addressing and managing these large-scale fire disasters is not only a global challenge but also an urgent mission that directly confronts our national forest and grassland fire prevention and control efforts.In this article,recent forest fire incidents both domestically and internationally were combined to conduct an in-depth analysis of the causes and potential risk scenarios associated with catastrophic forest fires.Drawing upon Chinese forest and grassland fire prevention and control system and the practical experiences of forest firefighting teams,multiple basic strategies for emergency response to catastrophic forest fires by taking a bottom-line thinking approach to minimize the disasters impact were proposed in this article.
