Effect and Control of Biological Based Flame Retardant Coating on the Performance of Wood Furniture Material
In this study, the flame retardant properties and decorative effects of wood furniture materials treated with different finishing methods were investigated by taking the loading amount of bio-based flame retardants on the surface of thin wood, the coating material and the coating sequence as conditions. The surface of wood furniture materials treated with phytate-based flame retardants cannot be finished with water-based coatings. After the bio-based flame retardant is applied to thin wood, then applying water-based paint will reduce the flame retardant effect of the bio-based flame retardant. The flame-retardant effect of thin wood is good when the loading capacity of bio-based flame retardant is more than 25%.The phytate-based flame retardant coated on the surface of thin wood after film protection has little effect on the decorative effect of thin wood after waterborne paint finishing;after the thin wood was coated with the bio-based flame retardant, then it was coated with polyvinyl alcohol solution, and finally waterborne paint finishing was carried out, which had good decorative effect, and the oxygen index of the thin wood obtained was close to 30.The results showed that the laminating and protective finishing method is simple and environmentally friendly, the optimal loading of bio-based flame retardant is 28%,and the resulting thin wood has good decorative effect and flame retardancy. In actual production, the coating process can be utilized to treat wood furniture materials according to the actual situation.
