Evaluation of the Benefits and Regional Differences of Grassland Restoration Projects in China
In this study, based on national grassland monitoring data and related survey data, the ecological benefits and regional differences of grassland restoration projects in China were evaluated.Using comparative analysis,a quantitative assessment was conducted on vegetation cover, forage yield, and soil health in 66 project counties. The results showed that the"Returning Grazing Land to Grassland"project significantly improved vegetation cover(13.66 percentage points higher than non-project areas)and forage yield(increased by 60.81%).The Beijing-Tianjin Sand Source Control Project successfully curbed desertification, significantly increasing vegetation cover and forage yield. The Southwest Karst Grassland Restoration Project achieved significant ecological, economic, and social benefits. This study indicated that grassland restoration projects effectively restore ecological functions and enhance regional ecological security, but management strategies need to be optimized to ensure sustainability.
