Hydrological practice and reflection on promoting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt
The high-quality economic and social development of the Yangtze River Basin would be impossible without the strong support of the hydrological sector.In recent years,the Yangtze River Basin has witnessed the continuous perfection of layout and function of the hydrological station network across the Yangtze River Basin,the rise in the automation level of hydrological monitoring,the enhancement of hydrological forecasting capability,and the improvement in smart hydrological information processing.These aspects have played a more prominent role in supporting the prevention of flood and drought disasters,water resources allocation and scheduling,water ecological protection and restoration,etc.,demonstrating that the modernization of the hydrological sector has achieved remarkable progress.Currently,new and higher requirements have been put forward for promoting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.This paper identifies the priorities for the next step through the analysis and assessment of the new situation and requirements.
