Enhancing water resources management and protection to promote the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt
The development strategy of the Yangtze River Economic Belt is a major strategic decision made by the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core,and water resources serve as a crucial guarantee for the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.This paper summarizes the achievements gained in water resources man-agement and protection since the implementation of this strategy and analyzes the emerging situation and new requirements for water resources management and protection of the Yangtze River Economic Belt in the current stage.Furthermore,it puts forward countermeasures and suggestions for enhancing water resources management and protection from such perspec-tives as adhering to systematic governance,safeguarding the water eco-environment,optimizing the water resources alloca-tion patterns,strengthening the rigid water resources constraint,upgrading the smart capabilities in water resources manage-ment,and improving the systems and mechanisms for water resources management and protection.The research results in this paper can provide reference for effectively utilizing and strictly managing the water resources of the Yangtze River Eco-nomic Belt,and promoting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
