Research on ecological flow guarantee management of rivers and lakes in the Hanjiang River Basin
The ecological flow of rivers and lakes has an overall impact on establishing a water ecological civilization,and has received priority attention from relevant government departments responsible for management or engineering manage-ment,and from the public.The management varies with the natural conditions of rivers.It is necessary to conduct thorough and meticulous research,tailor measures to local conditions and water conditions,and effectively strengthen measures to ensure the ecological flow of each river.This paper surveyed the current situation of ecological flow guarantee management in the Hanjiang River Basin.It was found that clear ecological flow targets have been set for the main control sections of the Hanjiang River Basin,ecological flow scheduling has been carried out,and corresponding ecological flow monitoring and warning systems and management mechanisms have been put in place.As the management of ecological flow guarantee for rivers and lakes in the Hanjiang River Basin is in its early stages and the Ministry of Water Resources is vigorously restoring the ecological environment of rivers and lakes,more efforts need to be made in such areas as ensuring an adequate density of river sections,determining the ecological flow in sensitive periods,and enhancing scientific research on ecological flow in the basin.
