Practices and reflections on flood control during the autumn flood season of the Yellow River
Compared with summer floods,the autumn floods of the Yellow River are characterized by low flood peak,long duration,and low sand content.In 2021,the Yellow River experienced severe autumn floods,which intertwined and re-peated in multiple regions along the trunk and tributaries as well as the middle and lower reaches.The large volume and the long duration of the floods were rare in history.Taking the autumn floods of the Yellow River in 2021 as an example,this paper reviews the autumn flood control from the perspectives of refined joint dispatching of reservoir groups,deployment of flood control,and achievements of flood control scheduling.It summarizes the experience in technical support and organiza-tional guarantee in flood control,and outlines a vision for the key points of autumn flood control under the new situation,which provide reference for future autumn flood control.
