The South-to-North Water Diversion Project is a major strategic infrastructure proposed and implemented by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China from the strategic perspective of sustainable development of the Chinese nation.General Secretary Xi Jinping attaches great importance to the South-to-North Water Diversion Project,and has made multiple important speeches and instructions,pointing out the direction and providing fundamental guidance for the Pro-ject.Since the first phase of the East and Middle Lines of the Project was fully connected,the project has achieved signifi-cant results in optimizing the allocation of water resources,ensuring the safety of drinking water for the public,reviving the ecological environment of rivers and lakes,and promoting the smooth circulation of the North-South economy.This has made important contributions to national water resource security and economic and social development.To further promote the high-quality development of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project,it is necessary to focus on the construction and operation management of the project,with a focus on improving the safety defense system,enhancing comprehensive bene-fits,accelerating the construction of the national water network backbone and arteries,strengthening rigid constraints on water resources,increasing ecological protection efforts,deepening the reform of the South-to-North Water Diversion Pro-ject,and telling the story of South-to-North Water Diversion Project.
