Research on the Development Background and Present Status of Furniture Mass Customization
Mass customization is a new production mode which tries to make a combination both having the efficiency and low cost of mass production and satisfying the individuality of clients' customization.The objective of this paper is to provide effective theoretical foundation and practical reference for the implement and development of furniture mass customization in China and to offer an active support for the industry's sustainable development and upgrading by analyzing and stating background and status.In this paper,the technological background of furniture mass customization is analyzed from three aspects:design technology,manufacturing technology and management technology and then the main characteristics of production mode for furniture mass customization are addressed,and this paper also states the development and research of furniture mass customization at home and aboard.Finally,some existing questions in implementing furniture mass customization:low degree of standardization and modularization,low level of digital and automation and lack of enterprise management information are summarized,and efficient measures are correspondingly also proposed.
