Effect of Stand Structure on Growing Rate of Young-growth Trees
The effect of different stands on the growing rate of the young-growth trees was analyzed through stand structure survey. The results showed that the growing rate of young-growth red pine was restricted by upper canopy structure. The main factors of stand structure that affects the growth included species, tree height, crown and it's relative to the distance of red pine saplings as well as the coverage of herbs and shrubs.Trees and shrubs had larger influence on the growing rate of the young-growth trees. The growing rate of the young-growth trees was significantly affected by both factors of the average height of shrubs and the number of trees, while the effect of other factors were not significant. The effect on red pine young-growth tree was most obvious when the shrub was in the height 2.6m.The growing height of red pine was greatly affected when tree number of red pine was greater than 4 within 3 m scope of around the trees.
