Larix gemelinii Stand Structure and BiomassCarbon Distribution Patterns
Stand structure that used to study the information of spatial pattern of trees plays an important role in forestry productivity. The stand structure of Larix gemelinii of different ages was studied in this paper. The results showed that young forest with diameter ranging 0~5 cm accounts for 80~95% of all the young growth forest.Along with increasing of ages, the stand age structure, tree diameter range and structure of sectional area were various and the stand remained mature and stable.Diameters of forest and sectional areas exhibited the normal distribution.Along with the increasing of ages, both the biomass and carbon sequestration had an increasing trend.Biomass and carbon storage of forest ranges from 158.53 to 395.64t/hm2 and from 70.47 to 175.86t/hm2 respectively. The quality of stand structure reflects the productivity of forest, but the carbon storage fails to indicate the carbon sequestration capacity.
