Synthesis of Cardanol Modified Phenolic Resin and Properties of Its Moulding Compounds
Resource utilization,environmental protection and low cost were important development directions of traditional materials.In this paper,cardanol was used to modify phenolic resin with the assist of boric acid.The effects of the introduction and dosage of cardanol and boric acid on the properties of the modified resin were discussed.The phenolic moulding compounds(PMC)were prepared by using the modified resin as matrix,and its properties were tested.The results show that the properties of the modified resin are significantly affected by cardanol and its dosage,and the softening point and thermal stability of the resin decrease with high substitution amount.However,the properties of the modified resin can be effectively controlled with the help of boric acid,and the PMC prepared with the modified resin shows better toughness and thermal stability.
