Design of Injection Mold for Space Twisted Light Guide Strip
The important feature of the light guide strip was the light guide teeth.A method for selecting the Z-direction of the mold based on the normal set of feature surfaces was proposed to address the difficulties in designing the mold opening direction for a long strip shaped light guide with spatial twisted distribution of light guide teeth.Firstly,the features of the parts were analyzed,the feature surfaces were classified,the normal set of the classified feature surfaces was organized,the distribution pattern of the normal direction was searched,and the range of mold opening direction was determined based on the distribution pattern.Then,using other features on the part to narrow down the range of mold direction until a suitable mold direction and mold coordinate system were selected.In the process of designing the mold structure,full consideration was given to the force balance of the mold,and a multi-layer combination parting mechanism was designed,which included a petal closure parting and a large spatial angle core pulling.Finally,a set of hot runner mold with two pieces and combined core pulling mechanism was successfully designed.The mold had balanced force and good product quality.
