Using phenylphthalyl chloride and caprolactam, the target product parylene dimethyldicaprolactam(TBCL)was neutralized by inorganic alkali. The reaction process did not produce organic salt wastewater, and the reaction conditions were mild.Furtherly TBCL/nylon 6(PA6)blend was prepared by twin screw extruder melt blending process.TBCL was structurally characterized by means of Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and differential scanning calorimeter(DSC).The effects of TBCL on the rheology, mechanical properties and thermal stability of nylon 6 were investigated by torque rheometer, universal tension machine and digital impact ometer. The results show that the fluidity of nylon 6 blend decreases after the addition of TBCL mixture, and the shock strength increases with the thermal deformation temperature. With the increase of the added amount, the bending modulus does not much, but the impact strength continues to improve, which basically improves the toughness of nylon 6 without any loss of rigidity.
