Preparation and Characterization of Poly(butylene adipate)
Under the tetrabutyl titanate catalyst with a mass fraction of 0.2%and at 180-200℃,hydroxy-terminated biodegradable poly(butylene adipate)(PBA)was synthesized by the esterification and polycondensation of 1,6 adipic acid and 1,4-butanediol,with the molar ratios of 1,6 adipic acid and 1,4-butanediol are 1 ∶1.05,1 ∶1.10,1 ∶1.15,1 ∶1.20,1 ∶1.25.The properties of PBA synthesized by different molar ratios of acid to alcohol were compared, and the best molar ratio of acid to alcohol was selected for PBA synthesis. The results show that when the molar ratio of acid to alcohol is 1 ∶ 1.05,PBA has the highest molecular weight(31 884).The product has certain toughness, better mechanical properties and higher flatness. Its tensile strength is 15.81 MPa and its elongation at break is824.62%.The heat decomposition temperatures of all the samples are above 350℃,the products have good thermal stability. The synthesis devices are simple, the polymerization time is relatively short, and the experimental conditions are easy to realize.
