To investigate the influences of process conditions on the structures and properties of as-spun fibers, the effects of polyacrylonitrile(PAN)contents on the viscosity of its spinning solution were studied via using a rotational viscometer. The results show that, with the increase of PAN content, the non-Newtonian fluid characteristic of the spinning solution is increased.Scanning electron microscopy(SEM)and X-ray diffraction(XRD)were used to investigate the influences of coagulation bath conditions(the mass fraction of spinning solution, coagulation bath temperature, the mass fraction of coagulation bath, coagulation time)on the formation of as-spun fiber structures. When the mass fraction of spinning solution is 20%,the coagulation bath temperature is 60-65℃,the mass fraction of coagulation bath is65%,and the coagulation time is30 s,the PAN as-spun fibers with smooth surfaces and circular sections are prepared.
