Research Progress of Natural Plant Polyphenols in Active Food Packaging
Food safety and quality are important issues related to the national economy and people's livelihood.However,at present,traditional food packaging materials are dominated by the single functional petroleum-based plastics,which are difficult to meet consumers'demands for green,fresh and safe packaging materials.Natural plant polyphenols have become one of the research hotspots in the field of food science due to their unique antibacterial and antioxidant activities.Therefore,focusing on the antioxidant and antibacterial properties of plant polyphenols,this paper described the loading forms of plant polyphenols as active substances in the active food packaging systems,the effective measures to improve the stability of plant polyphenols,and the specific applications of plant polyphenols in the food preservation.The aim is to provide some theoretical suggestions for the wide applications of plant polyphenols in the active food packaging fields and the developments of green manufactural technologies.
