Research on CaCO3-Contained Biodegradation Masterbatch Technology
The effects of polyadipic acid/butylene terephthalate(PBAT)resin matrix with different fluidity and calcium carbonate fillers with different particle sizes on PBAT masterbatch products and composite films were studied. In this study, masterbatch products were obtained by mixing different types of resin PBAT and calcium carbonate powder by the twin-screw extruder, and then the masterbatch products were mixed with PBAT resin in proportion and then the films were formed by blowing film. The results show that compared with the resin matrix, with the increase of resin fluidity, the mechanical properties of the masterbatch composite film products correspondingly decrease. The increase of resin fluidity has a positive impact on the dispersion properties of the masterbatch.Although PBAT with high melt flow rate(MFR)is beneficial in the machinability of the masterbatch,it would sacrifice parts of the mechanical properties.Secondly, from the perspective of particle sizes, the effects of calcium carbonate powder filler used in the masterbatch on the mechanical properties and the dispersion properties of masterbatch products were studied. The results show that the use of calcium carbonate powder with smaller particle sizes brings better comprehensive properties to the films. If the powder particle size is too large,or the resin MFR is too low,the poor dispersion would appear, resulting to the"crystal point problem"on the film surface.
